AML / KYC Policy
1. Purpose
Noctra, operated by VaultX Inc. (Panama), applies Know Your Customer (KYC), Know Your Business (KYB) and Anti-Money-Laundering (AML) procedures to every exchange. The goal is to prevent money laundering, terrorism financing, fraud and sanctions evasion, and to ensure the service is used lawfully.
2. When verification applies
Verification is mandatory. Every client — individual or business — must complete verification (KYC or KYB) and screening before their first exchange, and must register the wallet(s) they will send from. No exchange is completed until checks are cleared.
3. How verification works — step by step
- Start verification (one-time). You contact us by email to onboard. Individuals complete KYC; businesses complete KYB.
- Identity / business verification. Individuals provide a government-issued ID and a selfie/liveness check. Businesses provide company registration documents, beneficial owners (UBO) and authorized signatory identification. Verification may run through a partner such as Sumsub.
- Sanctions & jurisdiction screening. You are screened against international sanctions lists, watchlists and politically-exposed-person (PEP) databases, and against our list of restricted/prohibited jurisdictions. Clients from restricted jurisdictions cannot be served.
- Wallet registration & pre-check. You register the wallet address(es) you will send from; each is screened for risk through blockchain-analytics providers. For larger amounts we may request proof of the source of funds.
- Noctra ID issued. Once checks are cleared you receive your Noctra ID.
- Exchange. You create a request with your Noctra ID and a registered wallet; the desk confirms the rate and completes the exchange. We may request more information, place a request on hold, decline it, or return funds if checks fail.
4. Information we may request
For individuals we apply KYC; for businesses we apply KYB, which additionally covers company registration documents, beneficial owners (UBO) and the authorized signatory. In all cases you register the wallet address(es) you will send from.
- Government-issued identity document (passport / national ID / driver's licence)
- Selfie or liveness verification
- Proof of address (for larger amounts)
- Proof of source of funds (for larger amounts or higher-risk cases)
- Details of the wallet/account used for the transfer
5. Restricted jurisdictions and persons
We do not provide services to persons or entities located in, or resident of, sanctioned or restricted jurisdictions, or appearing on applicable sanctions/watchlists. The current list of restricted jurisdictions is maintained by our compliance team and is set out in our Terms of Use.
6. Handling of your documents
Documents are stored securely with encryption, and access is limited to authorised compliance staff. Data is retained only as long as necessary for the service and applicable record-keeping requirements, then deleted. See the Privacy Policy for details.
7. Refusal and returns
If an order cannot be cleared, we may decline it. Where funds were already received, they are returned in line with our refund procedure, minus unavoidable network fees, subject to legal constraints.
